There are two offically sanctioned activities associated with the 2012 BCCE: the Priestley House Tour (Tuesday) and the Spikes minor league baseball game (Wednesday evening). For the other activities below, we will send out Doodle polls to determine interest level and assist in the organization/logistics. Doodle polls will be emailed beginning mid-April via the conference registration list.
Childcare:
Day Bridge 861-4391 (Contact is Cheryl) - Drop-in available. Parents will need to complete a health assessment w/ proof of immunizations and some registration forms, which can be e-mailed in advance. Payment is due ahead of time. Open 7 am to 6 pm.

PSU Science camps - outreach programs from the Eberly College of Science dedicated to advancing science literacy in youth through the sharing and discovery of scientific knowledge.
**We have reserved 10 spots in the Science U summer camp program "ChemPossible". The science camp is for kids entering grades 4-8 in the Fall. Registration for the summer camp is separate from conference registration. If you wish to enroll your child, please contact the 2012 BCCE General Chair, Dan Sykes.**
PSU Sports camps - young athletes can choose amongst 32 different sports and get a chance to work with some of the most highly regarded coaches and athletes in the country at Penn State's Summer Sport Camps.
PSU Art camps - specialized art camps designed to stimulate the imagination and attract the individual interests of children (ages 5 to 14).
PSU Music camps - offers experiences in band, orchestra, choir, jazz, and piano for students who completed 8th grade (9th through recent gradutae) and who love music, want to study music with outstanding teachers, and experience college life at one of America's great universities.
Millbrook Marsh Nature Center - educate and inspire people about the natural world, and to instill a passion for the environment through science, history, culture and art.
Fun Unleashed - Summer camp available. $30 per day 8:30am-1pm (minimum 3 days) or $100 per week. Laser tag, trampoline, jungle playground, arcade games, crafts etc. $20 registration fee includes t-shirt, water bottle and supplies, 10% sibling discount. Lunch available for purchase or can be brought. Also field trips for swimming, etc.

Shaver's Creek Environmental Center - summer programs provide the knowledge, values, skills, experiences, and dedication that enable individuals and communities to achieve and maintain harmony between human activities and the natural systems that support all living species. Penn State’s Nature center invites you to walk our trails, visit our Raptor Center and Discovery Room, and enjoy one of our many programs and events! Hours are 10am-5pm 7days per week with free admission. “Meet the birds” shows are held between 1 and 3pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Evenings of music are possible; check the Shaver’s Creek website as time goes on. There will be a nominal fee for music events.
Penns Cave and Wildlife Center - America's only all-water cavern and wildlife park offers cavern tours, wildlife tours, gemstone panning, and a gift shop. Open 9am-7pm.

Beaver Stadium Tour and the All-Sports Museum - visitors encounter, firsthand, the athletic history and heritage of one of the greatest universities in the nation. Located at the southwest corner of Beaver Stadium opposite the Bryce Jordan Center (BJC). A long canopy leading from Curtain Road marks the Museum entrance. Admission: Suggested Donation - $5 for adults, $3 for children, seniors, & students. To help cover the cost of special exhibitions, programming, and tours, for which there is not extra charge, we ask that you please contribute the full amount. Group tours/rates available.

2000 Degrees - paint your own pottery. If participants want to take their pieces home, then they should come in on the 29th, so their pieces can dry and be fired. However, they can still do the activity any day, because the store will ship any number of pieces anywhere in the continental US for $8. Pieces range from $4 to $30 to paint, studio fees range from $4 to $6 for two hours which includes paint, use of tools and firing.
